Golden Years

“I'm not young enough to know everything.”
― J.M. Barrie, The Admirable Crichton
This page is designed with the general aging population in mind, but may be useful for those of all ages. Although many disease processes are more common in the elderly, they certainly are not limited by age. Anyone at any age can have a disability, or be a caregiver. Even Alzheimers Disease can have an early onset in young people.

I've been a nurse for over twenty years, while also serving as a personal caregiver for family members. I've spent more than half of my life caring for others, and I've held the hands of hundreds of dying people (young and old). I've seen their struggles and their pain.

The "Resource" link on this page, offers a plethora of support and useful data. Preparation is one way we can ease stress on ourselves and our family members during an emotional & difficult time. The Resource page addresses many of the practical aspects of aging, beginning with generalized life changes. Other, more detailed topics, such as: end of life care, death, and grieving, are covered also. However, the primary focus of this site, is on the biblical perspective concerning life and death. The knowledge and tips in the links on this page, are of great practical benefit, but the greatest benefits on this page, are from God's all-knowing perspective. The Word, is a rock upon which we can stand. Even at the end of life stages, we can rest in the Hope of the Return of Christ, which is an anchor for the soul. Medical knowledge and experience, add insight. However, a biblical perspective concerning illness, and death, offer an even greater eternal understanding.
