The Heavens Declare His Glory

 The Heavens Declare His Glory
A quiet evening in Grande Isle, Louisiana by Angela Garcia-Salas

Psalm 19:1 KJV
The heavens declare the glory of God
and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.

The Witness of the Stars
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

"For more than two thousand five hundred years, the world was without a written revelation from God. The question is, Did God leave Himself without a witness? The question is answered very positively by the written Word that He did not."

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

"How were His invisible things, i.e. His plans, His purposes, and His councils, known since the creation of the world?"
17 So then faith cometh by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard?
Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth,
and their words ['rhema'- matters] unto the ends of the world.

"Their teachings, their messages, and their instruction, went unto the ends of the world by the heavens. This scripture is quoted from Psalms 19, the first part of which is occupied with the Revelation of God written in the heavens, and the latter part with the Revelation of God written in the Word." ~E.W. Bullinger  from "Witness of The Stars"

Let them be for signs and seasons.

'Signs' is the word, 'othoth', derived from a root word meaning a sign of something or someone to come.

The word 'seasons' does not refer to our commonly known seasons of the year, but it denotes cycles of time. It's mentioned three more times in Genesis, in connection with the promised seed:
Genesis 17:21 "At this set time in the next year"
Genesis 18:14 "At the time appointed"
Genesis 21:2 "At the set time"

Even today, we can look to the sky and see the constellations according to the Word.

And they that be wise shall shine as
the brightness of the firmament and
they that turn many to righteousness
as the stars for ever and ever.

How encouraging it is to know that the beauty of the most spectacular sunset and the magnificence of the glowing moon, pale in comparison to the glory that awaits us for eternity with God. These verses are gentle hugs from a loving Father to wrap our minds around until their warmth and comfort sinks into the depths of our hearts. They are stars shining in the darkness, bringing new hope and lighting the path for a new life in Christ and a bright future! For many, we are lights shining in the darkness as we speak and act upon God's Word of life. We warm and bless the life of another. And…
